As a child, Peter Lord loved three things: drawing pictures, telling stories, and watching Disney movies. But he never imagined those three loves would lead to his studio winning multiple Oscars® for animated films. Peter says his father taught him to believe that if you do what you want to do with honesty, and have faith, then something good will come along. And that’s just what happened for Peter when he co-founded Aardman more than 40 years ago. At Aardman, Peter oversaw the creation of beloved Claymation figures like Shaun the Sheep, Morph, and Wallace & Gromit.
Peter still loves animation of all types. In this episode, he gives Charlie a lightning tour of the history of animation, explains why he still likes the old-fashioned stop-motion style, talks about the proudest moments in his life, and lets Charlie in on what animated character he would be if he could be any character in the world. (Hint: it rhymes with Fuzz Sightseer.)
Best of all, he and Charlie step into the studio to make a stop-motion movie together!
